Former Councilman Mike Abel and St. John’s Young Republicans Gather to Support Halloran
Candidates Stand Together at Kegger
On May 7, 2009, the Whitestone and Auburndale Republican Clubs joined with Young Republicans, and the St. John’s University Republican Club to support Council Candidate Dan Halloran. At the event, former Councilman for the 19th District, Mike Able was there to support Halloran and endorse his campaign. A guest appearance was made by the Republican candidate for city-wide Public Advocate, Alex Zablocki, another Young Republican.
The Republican Candidate hosted the event as a night of relief from the stress of college finals for our young republican members by providing a Campaign Kegger and Karaoke party. Halloran, who was born and raised in the District, and whose family has been a part of the civic life of the Auburndale-Flushing community for a century, is actively encouraging the development of the youth component of the GOP, and along with Councilman Eric Ulrich, represent some of the hopes of the Republican Party for its future growth and development.
